Hotel Doña Jimena

My friend and I had been left without a room at another place, and the hotel owner really came to our rescue. Everyone was extremely friendly, and they helped us plan the route for our cycling trip.

I was disappointed by the WiFi. There were five or six networks to try, but after connecting briefly I got 'No Internet', or couldn't connect at all. As a solo traveler, I rely on internet for planning, and WiFi throughout was advertised, so it matters to me when choosing a hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel was nicely presented. The young woman at reception was very helpful. Breakfast was just adequate, and €7.50 felt like too much. Noise also carried between rooms, from conversations to banging doors and other sounds nearby.

A bike breakdown kept me here for four nights, and the staff made a difficult trip much easier. Victor dealt with the garage and even drove me to buy a suitcase so I could pack my cycling clothes for the flight home. Everyone was pleasant and happy to help. The rooms were spotless, tastefully decorated and a good size. I also really enjoyed the attached restaurant, some of the best food I've had. I couldn't have asked for more and would absolutely recommend it.

Across the 30 countries I've visited, this is one of the best restaurants I've come across. The portions, flavors and customer service are all top class. It feels like a place that could challenge for a Michelin star. If you're nearby, don't miss it. Cheers, much appreciated.
