La Casona de Amandi

The hosts were excellent, and the common areas are fabulous. The grounds are magnificent, with a 100-year-old Sequoia, Wisteria, and other impressive trees. The rooms are large and well appointed, and the whole hotel is lovely. We'd have stayed longer if we weren't walking the Camino. Highly recommend.

There's a huge garden with plenty of room for a dog to run around, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. There's not much nearby, though, and no air conditioning. Still, it's a very nice place and I'd come back.

This place is a real hidden gem, though it's a little hard to find, so keep an eye out for the local signs off the main road. The owner lives next door and is so friendly. There's a large private garden to wander in, plus a gated private car park, so no security worries. It's a beautiful period house from 1860 with fewer than ten ensuite rooms. The conservatory reading room is wonderfully peaceful. Guests also have a courtesy bar and a spacious period breakfast room and lounge. Across the main road, Amandi restaurant serves traditional grilled food and ciders.

Such a lovely hotel, and pet friendly too. The breakfast was great and the staff were the nicest. I'll definitely return and tell friends and family about this gem.
