Hostal Castellverd

There were plenty of bars and restaurants close by, and the secure parking was ample. Even though the hotel is near a road, it was quiet at night and we slept without any trouble. I stayed for two nights in early September. The room was comfortable and clean, and the manager was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A great experience, fully recommended.

Castellverd is easy to spot when you arrive, there's a green castle, just as the name suggests. We stopped overnight on the way to Barcelona airport, and the price was very reasonable, especially with the secure parking behind a locked gate. Fernando made sure only guests came and went. He was friendly and helped us settle into the room and find local restaurants. The hostal and all its grounds were spotless, including the rooms and pool. It was too cold to swim, but the pool looked inviting. It's a quirky place beside a main road, though the overnight stop worked out wonderfully.

The owner is the nicest man, and the service was impeccable. A perfect place to stay near the beach when visiting vinaròs. I highly recommend it.

The outside gives a false impression. This place is a shack, and I wouldn't stay here. The room was disgusting, with dirty towels and sheets and a filthy shower. I gave one star only because that's the lowest rating available. The owner charged €80 because the room had a terrace, though I didn't care about that in December. In the morning I mentioned that Booking.com was charging €65, and he said I was lucky to get a room because it was the last one. That seemed impossible, with only four cars and our two motorcycles in the parking lot.
