Holiday Inn Express Vitoria by IHG

The location sits on a huge industrial estate, and public transport is very limited, so it's not a good fit if you don't have your own vehicle. The staff, though, were fantastic, friendly, and willing to help with anything. My room was very warm because the air conditioning had been switched off for “the winter,” even though it was still autumn. Breakfast was passable, but the meats and cheeses seemed like the cheapest options.

I couldn't get any air into the room because the window wouldn't open, and there were black hairs in the sink. Breakfast was a shock: just two slices of sausage, a little bread, and cheese with a plasticine-like taste. No fruit, vegetables, pickles, or eggs at all. The coffee was undrinkable, so we left and ate at a café instead.

The room was clean and decent for the price, and the staff were nice. Breakfast was nothing special, but it was included, so acceptable. The soundproofing in my room was poor. I could hear my neighbour coughing all night, as if he were lying right beside me.

We stopped here for a night on our way home to the UK, and it worked really well. The room was a good size and very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had a bath with a shower over it. There’s room service through a local pizza restaurant, with plenty of choices at a good price. Breakfast had a great spread: cereal, toast, fresh pastries, baguettes with different meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and juice, plus hot drinks. We'd happily recommend it and stay again.
