Hotel Silken Ciudad de Vitoria

Good location and comfortable rooms for the price. There was some traffic noise, and the outlets were a bit far from the bed, but otherwise everything was fine.

We arrived at 9pm with our 7-month-old, after booking in advance for a large double koovaty and a crib. Instead, we got single beds and were told there was no crib. We asked if they could give us a room with three beds or extra blankets and pillows to make a crib. They left us waiting at reception for over half an hour, then said they couldn’t help and the rooms were full. That wasn’t true, since I could still have booked a room at that hotel right then. In the end my husband had to insist on extra pillows, and he slept on the floor.

I stayed at Silken Hotel in January of 2025. It was clean and perfectly placed near the old town, and the staff were friendly. Saludos from Greece.

The old fashioned lobby has a grand, stately feel, and the location is very convenient for the historic city center. There is hotel parking, but all the spaces were occupied during our stay, so reserve ahead if you’re driving. Our room was fine, with a fridge and minibar we didn’t use, but it had a strong musty smell that opening the window couldn’t clear, almost as if nobody had used the room for months. The beds were very good and I slept well; the bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was fine, though I expected more from a four star hotel. We tried to reuse our towels to save water by not leaving them on the floor, but staff kept replacing them, even though the room said they wouldn’t be changed unless left there. After a strenuous hike, we got back at 17h and our room still hadn’t been cleaned. We wanted a shower, so we put up the do not disturb sign. Afterward, we found a note from housekeeping saying to ask reception for cleaning before 17h. That’s hard to do when you arrive at 17u and the room still hasn’t been cleaned. The Wi-Fi rules were frustrating too: only two devices could connect at once, and we travel with six. They should change that policy.
