We went with friends and babies and were absolutely delighted. The owners were wonderful, friendly and treated us so well. The house has everything, with all the little details taken care of. The pool is large and in perfect condition, and the barbecue area is fantastic, with everything on hand so you don't have to keep going back to the kitchen. We'll definitely be back!
The surroundings are spectacular, just right for wandering off into nature. The house itself is beautiful and well kept. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely return.
The owner brought us an extra fan, although there were only enough fans for two of the bedrooms. We were there during a heatwave and made good use of the pool morning, noon and night. La Casanova d'Escardívol is a nice house with large, comfortable rooms, though it's right among pig farms, and you can smell them depending on which way the wind blows. Overall, it's a good house.
It's a lovely area for riding horses, with no houses close by, though people do walk past the door, so there's not complete privacy. The location is very nice, but a nearby factory makes an annoying background noise. Hunters are close to the house and don't give any warning, which is dangerous if you're with children. The passing foot traffic isn't excessive.
There's nature all around, and if you're after quiet and a chance to disconnect from the world, it's an ideal spot. The house has all the comforts and a great swimming pool, plus a decent porch for lunch and a very decent built-in barbecue. We came to visit relatives. I didn't give it five stars because for food you have to drive to Navàs (9 kms.) or Puig-reig (7 kms., but the road is worse than the one to Navàs). Enjoy it.
