Casa Aldomar

The owners were so friendly and helpful, with detailed directions for the castles, ideas for sights in town, and places to eat. Casa Aldomar is set in a beautiful historic building and is a lovely little guest house for exploring Xativa. All the rooms have their own bathrooms, tasteful decor, and AC. Highly recommended.

I spent four days here on holiday to visit a relative and enjoyed my stay. The rooms were clean, and Jose was very helpful and knowledgeable. It’s close to everything in Xatvia. Thanks for a pleasant visit.

The family feel of the hotel and the way Ian welcomed us made our stay in Xativa much more than we expected. We arrived after a struggle with trains from the airport, but Ian arranged a late check-in at short notice, explained the train connections, and helped us find our way once we eventually got to town. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, and we’d book here again without hesitation when we return to Xativa. Our room on the top floor was exceptionally clean, and the air conditioning was a real relief with daytime temperatures still around 34. From there we could step out onto the roof terrace and look across at the castle and cathedral. There’s also a mini bar fridge on the first floor. You pay at the end, and we enjoyed the occasional beer or coke on the terrace overlooking the town. Breakfast isn’t part of the booking, but I recommend adding it. You can get a full continental breakfast with tea, or the traditional Spanish choice of coffee, cereal, and fruit. Ian happily chatted with us each morning about local history and the area, and suggested outings and places to eat. We also got a walking route from the hotel to the castle via the Dove Cave, which is worth visiting. We weren’t sure what to expect from Casa Aldomar when we booked, but this small, friendly hotel didn’t disappoint.
