We booked a standard double for two nights, but the replacement room we were given had two single beds instead. It was on another floor and the opposite side of the building, since there was construction by our original room. The new room didn't smell, but its safe didn't work, some switches were broken, and the shower was broken too. We noticed the shower late at night, otherwise we would have asked to move again. Our first room had a strong, unpleasant cigarette smell, as if it were in the walls and furniture. We told reception, and staff put an air freshener in the room, but it made no difference. I woke up nauseated, and my wife had a severe headache. The smell was still strong, and the only window that opened was tiny and didn't help. We had a very unpleasant stay. This didn't feel like a four-star experience, and the rooms need a major refresh. I do think the staff tried to help as best they could, but the hotel's condition is the core problem and they couldn't fix it.

A great spot for a city break in Zaragoza. The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the staff were lovely and friendly.

I stayed last night and was very unhappy with the room. It felt dated and wasn't very clean, and with no air conditioning it was so hot I struggled to sleep. Parking was very expensive.

The first impression wasn't very inviting. The elderly clerk seemed unwelcoming, and wanted to charge 90 for coffee pods for the room. The building has an old-fashioned charm inside and out, like a lady wearing out the fine clothes of her youth. Still, the hotel feels desolate and depressing, with just a trace of past charm.

The young woman at reception was incredibly helpful, and our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It made a great base for exploring the city. It's an excellent central hotel, though that location makes it rather expensive.
