Hotel San Jorge

The street was very loud at night, which comes with being right in Zaragoza old town centre, so bring earplugs. Still, the hostel was great value. It's a two-minute walk from the basilica, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and the rooms were pretty clean. Customer service was AMAZING, genuinely the best I've had in Europe. Everyone at reception was attentive, friendly and went out of their way to help, especially Verssaline (sorry if that's how you spell it).

The staff were nice, and the place was clean and very central for the price. The furniture isn't the most modern, but the floor was new and clean. The bathroom was okay, though it could have had a few more shower amenities.

The location works really well, with Churrisimo across the road and some great bars a short walk away. I’ve stayed here a few times when my band plays giga in Zaragoza, and I’ve always had a good time. The rooms are comfortable, and the temperature controls are easy to use.

We paid $141 for three nights, breakfast included at El Cierzo, which felt like a good deal. Though it was called continental, breakfast came with eggs, a choice of meats like jamon or chorizo, fried potatoes, bread, coffee and juice. The hotel sits in a quiet, safe neighborhood and is well placed for visiting Zaragoza. It’s a simple, clean place, and the friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. It’s not one of those cookie-cutter hotels, but I’d happily stay again when I’m back in this charming city.
