The people here are a big part of why we’ve returned to Innside by Melia Zaragoza twice. Maria Rubio, Mercedes, and José Antonio at reception were wonderful, and Alice and the room service team kept checking that we had what we needed each day. They made the stay feel like a real five-star experience. We found the Junior Suite spacious enough for our family of four, or for a couple, and liked its design. The shower and tub were fantastic. The rooftop bar has amazing city views, and the pool is shallow enough to be fun for kids. We’ve enjoyed it in both summer and winter. There’s also a roomy gym with plenty of equipment, including lots of kettlebells and free weights. Shops and restaurants are all around the hotel. We usually eat out, but the hotel restaurant was phenomenal, both the food and service. The garage downstairs is clean, safe, and well maintained, and the hotel offers a discounted rate. Construction nearby has been going on for over a year and made it tricky to find our way on the last day. It looks close to finishing, though, and parking should be very convenient once it does.

The room was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable, and the public areas and hallways were tidy. Reception staff were polite, too. We paid around 100 euros a night, so it was good value for our three-night stay with my boyfriend, but I don't think I'll come back. Construction right outside meant taking a long detour to walk back from the city center. Inside, we could hear water from other rooms and some outside noise at night. The bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, so shower water got onto the floor, and the toilet seat cover was broken. Some furniture, including the cabinet, had sharp edges that were easy to scratch yourself on. The hotel itself was fine, but the construction, hassle, and little maintenance problems made the stay less comfortable. Based on how it actually felt to stay there, I'd rate it two stars.

The rooftop was a highlight, with a refreshing pool and great views over Zaragoza. We also liked the high-tech fitness center, and having a cocktail at the bar felt relaxed. Inside, the rooms were spacious and minimalist, with lots of natural light and a complimentary minibar. The open lobby felt lively and welcoming. INNSiDE by Meliá Zaragoza is a stylish, modern place to stay in the heart of the city, handy for nearby historic sights.

The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is in a great location. Our room was large, clean, well equipped, and laid out nicely. The sofa bed was thin and uncomfortable for an adult, though fine for a child. The trouble was with service and room service. I work in hospitality, and while the customer isn't always right, you still try to make things right. In this case, we were right. I’ve updated my review because the hotel contacted me afterward and did more than I expected at the time. They were prompt and polite, so it’s only fair to reflect that. It’s a nice hotel in a great spot.

The staff were excellent, really friendly and full of useful suggestions for enjoying town. We liked the included breakfast buffet, with plenty to choose from, plus eggs and coffee made to order. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant. It was off season, so the roof bar was closed, and there wasn't much space to have a drink in the lobby, which was quiet as a library. Our room faced the courtyard, so noise wasn't an issue, but getting through the rubble and detours at the front door was. The hotel sits just outside the old quarter, which was fine, though the construction made the area feel like a war zone. I'm sure it'll be lovely when the work is done. The rooms felt sparse and a bit small, with no washcloths, robes, or bath amenities. The bathroom is a glassed-off corner, and my kids didn't find it very private. It was tight quarters, and my husband and I were always dancing around each other. I'd say 3.5 stars.
