Hotel Oriente

The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the bathrooms had everything we needed. Breakfast was varied, with a good selection of cheeses and cold cuts, though there were no hot options. The hotel is centrally placed, within walking distance of the Basilica of Piar and the gastronomic district. Nearby parking costs €21 a day, with a €3 daily discount, so it’s still fairly expensive. The amenities were satisfactory overall. The air conditioning wasn’t working temporarily, and the rooms got warm in sunny weather, but evening ventilation helped. For this location, the hotel is good value.

The Wi-Fi was very weak. Breakfast was decent, though it was the same every day. Heating in the rooms had been disabled because, we were told, it was still warm outside, and there was no one available to fix it.

The location is wonderful, right on a noisy street, but that’s the main thing this place has going for it. It’s a clean hotel with nice staff, though the beds are terribly uncomfortable, the food is mediocre, and pretty much everything else feels below average. The TV looks like a $70 set. For a two star hotel, it’s average at best. I like the location, but the quality is a trade off.

The hotel has been renovated, and the rooms are comfortable with a great bathroom. The internet worked surprisingly well. It’s centrally located, right across from the city tram and within walking distance of major sights. Parking isn’t too far away, and you can pull up in front to unload.
