The location is outstanding, right by the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Pillar and near the entrance to one of the nearby museums. My room looked straight onto the cathedral, which I loved. Beyond that, though, there’s very little value for the money. It feels like a typical three star hotel, perhaps even below that standard. Breakfast was the same every morning, so I wouldn’t recommend booking it. Restaurant staff were careless, clattering and slamming plates while setting other tables, which made breakfast feel almost like a canteen. Guests weren’t allowed to use tables already set for lunch, even during breakfast hours. It felt rigid and poorly thought out, and staff seemed indifferent to guests’ discomfort. The staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Rooms are small, with basic, low quality toiletries, no complimentary water or minibar, paper cups instead of proper glasses, and a safe that didn’t work. A disappointing stay for the price, despite that excellent location.

I stayed here for 9 nights, and the location was great. On the fourth day, I went down for breakfast, but the staff member sent me away, saying a group was coming and there was no room for me. I pointed out that the table where I’d set my coffee was free. They took the coffee, put it in my hand and told me I could drink it somewhere else. Being treated that way in front of everyone was so humiliating that I never ate breakfast there again, even though I’d already paid for it.

Superb location. The rooms need some love, ASAP.

8/10
It’s a good place, if a little pricey, but the location explains that. The rooms are somewhat dated, and there aren’t enough sockets for charging phones and the like. The small twin beds are lovely and firm. Great shower, with strong pressure and lots of hot water. It’s a decent place for a few nights.

The staff were lovely, the restaurant was great, and the hotel is close to everything. There’s a lift to the upper rooms. The balcony has a beautiful view, though it’s so small you can only stand on it, not sit. Still, it’s nice to have. No smoking inside, only outside the building.
