The terrace was a highlight, with hammocks and fantastic views. Inside, the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, and the apartment was spotless and stylish. It had all the kitchenware and useful basics, including a coffee maker, hairdryer, oil, salt, and sugar. The owner was lovely. We’ll definitely come back!

We felt right at home, and had a great dinner at the restaurant. The apartment was in a good location, with comfortable beds, lots of space, and everything kept incredibly clean with care put into the details.

We’ve stayed at Peñafiel in Zarza la Mayor for Easter many times, and it’s always a pleasure to return. The apartments are lovely, and Rosa is charming, always smiling and ready to help with anything. This time we arrived on Tuesday from Córdoba, on the day of the festival at the Hermita of the Virgen de Sequero. The setting where the Hermita stands is beautiful and well worth seeing. On our way to Oviedo, we called Rosa, and even though it was a holiday, she kindly got a lovely apartment with a terrace ready for us. I love getting up, going down to the restaurant for toast made with delicious bread and olive oil, then taking a walk around the village and seeing how friendly everyone is. We also enjoy having a glass of wine and some of Extremadura’s very good cheese. We’re sure to come back and stay as always. These apartments are well worth recommending to anyone who hasn’t been, and what can I say about Rosa? She’s lovely.
