Kuko Hotel Restaurant - Adults Only

The staff were so welcoming and made us feel special. We also really liked the restaurant and its atmosphere, with a gastronomic menu at a reasonable price. It’s a lovely place for a couple of nights, surrounded by nature, and most rooms have panoramic views of the landscape.

We ended up loving the food, and Kuko’s service was a big part of that. You can tell she really enjoys cooking. There isn’t a menu, but I’d say let yourself be surprised, you won’t regret it. My daughter and I stayed for five days, and we booked dinner just for the first night at first, to see whether we’d want to eat there again on the other nights.

The room was too cold for the time of year, and the fireplace in the lounge was just decorative, even though it was December. There aren’t basic conveniences for guests, such as a kettle for tea or a coffee maker. Breakfast was very limited if you wanted something savoury like cold cuts or eggs, those cost extra, and dinner portions were quite small. We found one cockroach in the bread basket, then two more in the lounge the next day. The owner’s manner wasn’t pleasant, and he made inappropriate remarks, even bringing up politics during dinner. There was no check-in, and he didn’t take guests’ details.

The owner was polite but seemed pretty indifferent to us. He barely gave us any attention and kept chatting with a couple about their lives. We only got to see the area’s stunning natural beauty in the morning, though you can easily see it without staying at the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice and the area is charming, but after that you’re left to sort things out yourself. There’s almost no information, apart from the note that dinner needs to be reserved. I get that they have a set menu, but it would be nice if they could offer something simple like a Spanish omelet or some Iberian ham. If you arrive without food, you’re stuck until the next day because there’s nowhere nearby. The location is lovely, but based on our experience, the service doesn’t make it worth staying there.
