They moved us downstairs to another area because the spa was full. I understand places get busy, but the room was unfinished and didn't feel suitable for guests. During our Moroccan steam treatment, we could hear men's voices right outside. At one point the door was left wide open while we were being treated, with a man standing outside. I felt very uncomfortable and had to ask them to shut it. My friend and I came to enjoy a treatment at a spa often praised as one of the best, but the customer service was very poor and the whole visit unpleasant. The staff lacked professionalism. I won't return or recommend this hotel spa.

The nail salon damaged my fiancé's ring by using oils without proper care. We also found the responses to our complaints dismissive, with no real effort to fix anything, and the hotel doesn't offer refunds. I regret paying the full amount upfront and would advise others to think twice before doing that. My fiancé and I spent eight days at Capital Hotel in Addis Ababa. We had mildly warm water on only two of them. I reported it daily, and staff offered to move us, but every room had the same problem. I ended up using the spa just to get a warm shower, and even those facilities weren't well maintained. For a hotel presenting itself as five star, service and standards fell far below expectations. As an Ethiopian, it's especially disappointing to see it praised when, in our experience, it didn't meet basic hospitality standards. I can't recommend staying here.

I was at Capital Hotel for training and didn't get to try the rooms or room service. The lunch buffet and snacks were good, though options for non-fasting guests during breaks were limited. Still, it was a positive experience and I had a good time.

We couldn't get to the pool until late because nobody told us swimming caps were required until then. By the time we got in, the sun had set and the visit was pointless. Earlier, we'd waited more than an hour and a half for drinks, and they only arrived after we reminded the staff. The food was no better: the chips were undercooked and raw inside, there was no salt for the fries, and the ketchup bottle was empty. We had to squeeze just to get a drop. Drinks were forgotten until we followed up, too. Service was slow and inattentive, and the hotel seemed poorly organised. For a place of this standard, it fell well short of expectations.
