Garalay Hotel

This was the cheapest hotel RewandaAir could find within 1h of the airport after our flight was canceled and rerouted to Ethiopia. The stay was nothing but disappointing. We asked to switch rooms after finding cockroaches in the first one, only to find the second room was no better. The shower didn’t work, the sheets were stained, and the cleanliness was appalling. The food seemed like a guarantee of diarrhea. Don’t stay here if you have a choice.

The congregation’s dedication and activity are very pleasing to see. This is one of the best Sunni mosques in the Burayu area.

We spent one night here after our flight was canceled, and I’m honestly amazed by how bad the place is. There’s hardly anything positive to say, except that I never have to stay here again. The room overlooked a busy road, had cockroaches, and the sheets were stained. Just about everything was broken, including a shower that wouldn’t turn on at all. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, the food was bad enough to send back in prison, and the staff were rude and unfriendly. If your tour operator tries to put you here, tell them you’ll take your chances on the streets.

The rooms are clean and a good size, with balconies, and everything was working well. Hot water, Wi-Fi, and TV were there. Breakfast is included and the food was delicious. All the staff were amazing, professional, friendly, and efficient. The hotel was brand new, just one month in, and they were doing everything to perfection. I also had coffee here that was as good as the best cafes in Addis, which is unusual for a big hotel. It’s the first time I’ve had my coffee at the hotel.
