The photos look much better than what we found. The rooms seemed badly worn and in real need of renovation, the bed was very hard, and the room and bathroom were dirty. There were cockroaches inside the mirror cabinet. We asked for a softer mattress, and the service guy said he’d never heard that request before, which made me feel like I was being unreasonable. We also asked to move rooms and were shown the one next door, but it was in the same condition. We had booked ahead, but decided to switch to a better hotel right away. We had to pay for one night, yet were told to leave the room immediately. There’s no elevator, and no English-speaking staff. Outside, there were only street vendors and beggars, the traffic was busy and felt dangerous, and the steep road made the lorries and trucks really noisy as they pushed uphill. The cleaning staff seemed to be cleaning constantly during our short stay, so I don’t understand why the rooms were so dirty. If all you need is a bed and shower and you have no money, maybe this place works. Otherwise, don’t go unless you have no other options.
