At Cascara Bar, the staff are consistently friendly and professional. Solomon especially stands out as a host. He welcomes people with a warm smile, knows his cocktails, and keeps everything remarkably clean and professional. My friends and I have tried many hotels in the city, and the Hyatt Regency is one of the most luxurious. I really appreciated the experience.

The hall was lovely, and both the air conditioning and sound system worked perfectly. I was there for a work group lunch, and the food was amazing from the salad and soup through to the main course. My fish could have used a little more seasoning, but it was the best hotel food I had during my week in Addis.

Samuel and Solomon were excellent bartenders at the Cascara Bar at the hayyt regancy Hotel. The bar was really busy, but they worked together smoothly, served us quickly and professionally, and communicated well. They handled everything without a hitch. Their service made the visit very enjoyable.

I’ve generally enjoyed the hotel’s kitchen and service, but repeated visits to Cascara Bar at Hyatt Regency have left me concerned about the guest experience. I don’t plan to return. On one visit, my friend and I were billed incorrectly: an espresso martini had been changed to a negroni. Staff initially resisted when we questioned it, and only corrected the bill after we insisted. The difference was about 800 ETB. On another visit, we waited around 20 minutes with no staff at the bar and had to go up to it ourselves. More recently, while there with friends, we were abruptly told we couldn’t take photos because of “privacy” and supposed restrictions on showing alcohol. There was no sign or earlier notice of this policy, and no constructive explanation. We asked for a manager, and Beniam eventually came over. The response didn’t really address what had happened. We were offered complimentary drinks, but got no clear acknowledgment or resolution. I’m sharing this in good faith and expected more consistent service and guest care from a hotel of this standard.
