Venetian Hotel

I don’t understand the good ratings. There was no hot water, the furniture was broken, and the mattresses were old and uncomfortable. They put a soft foam layer over them, which made them even worse. Laundry took four days, unless you paid extra for express service.

I really enjoyed staying at Venetian Hotel in Bole. It’s close to the airport and other major attractions, and the staff were friendly. Had a good time there.

It’s quieter here than the hotels on the main roads, which I liked. The bed and mattress were comfortable, and the receptionists were friendly and helpful. The road leading to the hotel is unpaved, though that seems pretty typical of the area. It’s behind Saro Maria, about a five-minute walk to Airport road. For the price bracket, it’s the best. There are a few issues, but nothing intolerable.

I spent two weeks here and enjoyed the stay. The people were pleasant, the location is good, and Bole Road, with its cafes and restaurants, is a short walk away. The WiFi worked well in the lobby but was unreliable in some rooms. Construction on the road outside made it dusty and difficult to walk on, while the main road was modern and fine. Watch out for young kids and beggars asking for money if you walk around. I didn’t feel unsafe, but stay aware of your surroundings, especially with your phone out or if you’re heading back late.
