I spent more than 500 days in a row at Delano Hotel Bahir Dar while working for the United Nations in Ethiopia Amhara region for 1,5 years. It came to feel like home, and I still miss room 403. The rooms are spacious enough, with AC, and almost everything worked. The airport shuttle ran like clockwork. Most of all, the staff, including Melaku& Gedif and all the other friends, were extremely kind, helpful, respectful, and friendly. From my experience, this is the best and most optimum hotel in Bahir Dar. 100% from me. Do never underestimate this hotel.

The hotel is good in many ways: the staff are hospitable, the food is good, the WiFi is fast, and the rooms are always clean. I’d recommend it to anyone staying in Bahir Dar. The car service, though, was very poor. No car was waiting when we arrived at Bahir Dar airport, and when I was leaving, I had to beg for one and ended up late for my flight. VERY POOR.

The welcoming staff, their infectious smiles, and the great hospitality are a big part of why I keep staying at Delano Hotel until I return to USA. Customer service is beyond and above, and the food is very delicious, with both local and international options for customers. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Bahirdar. This historic beach side city in Ethiopia is home to Lake Tana, one of Africa’s largest lakes, and Blue Nile River, the largest river in the world. Ordering fish is highly recommended.

After almost a week traveling around Northern Ethiopia, we spent our last night here before heading back to Addis. The staff were warm and extremely friendly, and the hotel was clean and modern. Our room had AC, a safe, and a super comfy soft bed. WiFi was great, and the restaurant was decent. I’d definitely stay again in Bahirdar.

I still miss the juice I had with breakfast. The food tasted good, the WiFi was fast, and the rooms were very clean with good showers. The staff’s hospitality and treatment of guests were amazing. Everything was great.
