After our three day trip to the Danikil Depression, the hot showers and comfortable bed were very welcome. We loved our stay at Asimba, a refreshing, spotlessly clean oasis among the usual mediocre places we visited in Ethiopia. Chris and Saba make you feel incredibly welcome, right from the fresh juice when you arrive to inviting guests into their living room for a glass of wine. It really felt like a home away from home.

Chris and Saba’s hospitality went way beyond what I expected, and I really appreciated it. The house is outstanding, and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. I was extremely happy with Asimba Guest House. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed, a lovely oasis. Definitely recommended!

We’ve been pretty unimpressed by every hotel and lodge so far, so it was nice to finally find a place that impressed us. The decor and atmosphere are a notch above anywhere else in Ethiopia, and the hosts are SO friendly and welcoming. It felt like home right away. STAY HERE!!

The breakfast was delicious, and the large room and bathroom were comfortable. It’s a beautiful house and an oasis of peace, with lovely, hospitable, helpful owners, Cris and Saba. An unforgettable experience.

Saba and Chris made us feel very welcome in their beautiful, spacious home. It’s a really first class guest house, very near the airport and just a 5 minute taxi ride to Mekele town centre. Highly recommended.
