The food was AMAZING. It was so good that all the guests needed a little time to catch their breath before getting back to the party. With the beautiful location and amazing weather, we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding celebration.

A nice spot by a little lake, and seems good for a celebration. I didn’t stay overnight.

The setting is gorgeous, right by a lake. I never asked if fishing was allowed, but saw a couple of fish snapping at the water. The nights are like Alaska or Northern Canada, with only a couple of hours of twilight. Bring mosquito repellent, and don’t be surprised if you spot moose, elk, or plenty of deer. I imagine there are wolves and bears too, though I didn’t see any. I was taken in after the cutoff when there wasn’t another room for 100 km. This isn’t really a five star hotel, more a working man’s place while in transit, but they charged the same straightforward rate they give everyone, no tourist rip-off. Hilton had wanted four times the usual price for a broom closet by the airport, so I appreciated that. The people were nice, and breakfast was good enough that I went back for seconds. I only eat breakfast 4 to 10 times a year, so that’s high praise. My Mrs will pass out when she hears I had seconds. I badly needed sleep after a 72 hour day and didn’t want to get up for meetings with the Finnish defense minister and Nokia Finntech. I’d hurt my leg and was on crutches in a cast, so a shortcut to the room would’ve helped. The WiFi never connected properly either. I was there for business and needed email to make sure my companies were being handled. A booster or something would help, the signal was so weak there were no bars and no WiFi. Everything else was primo, and thanks for the desperately needed sleep.

I only walked around the pond and popped into the restaurant, but the place felt so peaceful it was easy to forget your troubles. It’s nice to see that it’s fully booked every weekend this summer, with a few weekends next summer booked for events too.
