The location and restaurant were good, but the Ratsula section was poor value for money. There’s no air conditioning, outside noise was excessive, and we had trouble with the keys.

One of Finland’s most beautiful venues, with friendly staff. Special thanks to the lovely chefs who took care preparing my dairy-free meals. They were seriously good! My room was dated, and just before bed I spotted an insect crawling over the pillow, so I’ve taken a star off my score. The bed itself was firm and comfortable.

The hotel surroundings were beautiful, and breakfast was very good with plenty of options. The standard room in the Ratsula building was okay, but the restaurant spoiled the good impression.

There are lots of ways to relax here, and it’s a really nice historic hotel. With the older buildings, it’s worth asking whether a room has cooling if you’re visiting in warm weather. In spring, all the rooms are quite okay. I recommend the place.

The castle itself is a great sight, and the staff were attentive and positive. Breakfast was mediocre, though. We stayed in an apartment in a separate building near the golf club. It was very dated, with furniture that looked like a flea-market collection from decades past, and there were no blinds in the bedroom.
