The room was very hot, and breakfast was rather small.

Since this is a former hospital, there’s no reception and everything is handled by text message. That’s annoying when the messages don’t arrive and you have to call Finnish numbers. Booking.com customer service were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very clean, though its general appearance felt a little careless. For example, there were no signs pointing to the breakfast area.

The apartment was clean and had a kitchen, but the mattresses were too soft. The hotel was quiet, and closing the kitchen door at night kept the overly loud air conditioning from being heard. If the air conditioning had been set lower, the room would probably have been warmer. It was cold in the spa too, so we missed the evening we’d booked upstairs there. That was a shame. The night lamps were broken, and watching TV meant putting on subtitles. We had to huddle under a blanket on the sofa. Breakfast was a basic spread without meatballs or sausages, though there was enough food. This wasn’t a spa holiday for us.
