Our experience with 2ndhomes was the worst apartment stay of my life, though this review may not describe the particular apartment we booked, "2ndhomes Loft Apartment with Spa & Balcony by the White Church." We couldn’t get the key code to work, despite trying repeatedly. The emergency number went unanswered, leaving us stranded on the street at 10:30pm. We had to find a hotel instead. At their office the next day, they claimed the code was correct and that we hadn’t called. We showed a video of us entering the code and a screenshot of the call. They said they needed to investigate, but couldn’t do it until the following Monday, three days later. We had booked two nights. They told us we could use the apartment the second night, but if we didn’t, there’d be no refund. I offered to stay if they reimbursed the first night and the modest extra hotel expense. They refused, so we spent the second night in a hotel too. The booking was due to begin Thursday 28 September. It’s Tuesday 3 October now, and all the financial issues remain unresolved. We haven’t received our deposit back, reimbursement for either apartment night, or the extra cost of the hotels. I wish I’d read more of the other Google reviews beforehand. We feel deeply disappointed and saddened by this, especially since Finnish culture is known for mutual trust and respect. In my opinion, it’s a scam operation. Finnish police or tourist authorities, please investigate if you come across this review.
