The staff were very friendly, and the self-service setup was easy enough. Breakfast is available for an extra payment. The price felt reasonable, especially by Helsinki standards, and each room has its own interesting wall paintings.
The hostel feels very homey, and there's a friendly cat. The neighborhood is quiet, though I found the location inconvenient. At night it might feel scary, so I'd suggest going there in daylight first to get familiar with the area.
It's a relaxed, homey place with nice people and an easygoing owner. A cool alternative, and not expensive.
The staff have an alternative, hippie-friendly vibe. Go say hi, at least.
