Ahvenlampi Camping

We enjoyed the peaceful, cozy setting and the clear-water lake. The one downside was the receptionist, who seemed very process-oriented and wanted to do things his own way, with little room for questions. The cafe didn’t feel welcoming.

The campsite is tucked into the forest, with pretty lakes, plenty to do, and nice walks. I especially liked its location, and in mid-September it was very quiet. The toilets and showers were rather rustic and quite cold, and there was just one kitchen area. Both were a fair distance from the caravan section. I’d recommend the place if you’re not too fussy about the showers and toilets.

The sauna was very good, and the cabin had useful equipment, including a microwave, which was a nice surprise. It took a while to warm the cabin up because it was a bit cold when we arrived. We stayed one night and found it okay. The area and cabin were somewhat rugged, but the staff were very friendly. Good value for the price, and I could stay here again.

There’s plenty to do nearby, with free bikes and boats, fishing, disc golf, a barbecue, and chances to pick mushrooms and berries. I slept in a cottage with its own sauna. It wasn’t especially clean or well kept, though the price made it worthwhile. The nearby town has little beyond a couple of supermarkets and a gas station.
