Scandic Helsinki Hub

I’ve stayed here twice and would happily come again. It’s in a perfect spot for exploring Helsinki, and the restaurant has delicious food and excellent service. The breakfast buffet is superb, with good gluten-free choices too. Rooms are clean and the beds very comfy. The bath was a little awkward to get in and out of, and I wished there were tea and coffee in the room.

The sauna downstairs was wonderful and clean, and breakfast was fresh with lots of options. My room was spacious, with lovely heated bathroom floors. It’s also in a convenient location and feels like great value for the money. I’d definitely stay again.

Breakfast was the standout for us, with plenty of local foods to try, and it was well worth booking with the room. The fitness centre was very well equipped, the rooms were large, and the in-house restaurant was very good. The location suited where we wanted to go, and the previous reviews were all very positive. The Scandic Motel ticked a lot of the boxes we usually look for when booking, and we’d highly recommend it.

Il Centro is the hotel’s gem for me. The restaurant is calm and very nicely designed, the courtyard is lovely in summer, and every time I’ve eaten there the service has been magnificent and friendly. There’s one chef in particular with outstanding pizza skills. Those pizzas are in a different league from the ones at other Scandic restaurants, and well worth the money. The gym is also much better equipped than the usual hotel setup, more like a commercial gym than one treadmill and two dumbbells. Even the basic rooms are thoughtfully designed and comfortable, and I think the premium rooms are worth their price too. The location is hard to beat. It’s in a posh part of Helsinki with nice views and little traffic, while still only a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre. I’ve stayed, slept, and eaten at many Scandic hotels, and this is easily in my personal top three in Helsinki. You’ll get good value here, and even if you don’t stay, trying the restaurant is a great idea.
