The restaurant served amazing food, and I highly recommend the fish dishes. The rooms were very comfortable, and the building had a wonderful atmosphere. It's a lovely old building in a great spot in the heart of Helsinki. It's considered Finland's oldest hotel, although it isn't at its original location. The central train station is directly opposite, giving easy access to the rest of the city, the airport and the rest of Finland.

The buffet breakfast was decent, and the staff were lovely. The hotel has a rich history, having been established in the 1800s. It's right in front of Helsinki railway station, which is convenient for travelling, and there are lots of restaurants and shops around the city centre.

The location is a real plus, right by Helsinki’s main railway station, with the best shops just around the corner. But my room needed renovation, and there was very little privacy since I could easily hear conversations from next door. The breakfast selection also felt narrower than at other Scandic hotels.

The room was clean, though quite small, and the view from my top-floor windows was fairly good. The old elevator was so slow that the stairs were quicker. The hotel is centrally located, but garage parking costs 36€, and breakfast was bad. The building has lovely old architecture, though it’s in need of renovation.

We found the rooms clean and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was a good way to start the day. There’s no AC, but the nights were cool even in July/August. This charming, unique Finish hotel is a lovely base for a couple of days in Helsinki, close to the Market, Islands, parks, and lots of excellent restaurants.
