Ukkohalla Chalets

The apartments are nicely placed near everything, from the slopes and cross-country trails to the restaurant, spa, and lake.

Lovely landscape and beautiful surroundings.

The hiking trails in Ukkohalla are good and the scenery is beautiful, but our week in a 45m2 ground-floor Ski Chalets apartment was a bad experience. It faced the lake. After the first night we complained that the cooker hood wasn't working and was quite greasy, the ventilation didn't work at all, the dishes were dirty, and the only plastic bucket was broken. There was greasy dust on the cupboards and other surfaces, as if cleaning had been skipped. Nobody got back to us about any of the complaints during our stay. The sauna smelled, and the benches seemed not to have been washed for a while. The apartment itself smelled too unless we kept the windows open. The vacuum cleaner bag clearly hadn't been changed in ages. We tried to vacuum once, but the smell made it impossible. I wouldn't recommend a Ski Chalets apartment to anyone who cares about their health.

The natural setting is lovely, but getting there from Oulu by public transport is impossible, which is a big drawback. Sauna world is quite nice, though it could use a few improvements.
