Camping Merihelmi

The cabins were spacious and clean, with the essentials supplied, including sheets and towels. The cabin sauna was amazing too. 5/5, would recommend.

The main drawback was the nearby road, which was quite loud. Bring earplugs. The service houses were clean enough, with big showers, and there’s a tiny kitchen where you can wash dishes. Reception is at the hotel by the street, where you pay and get the code for the bathrooms. Then you drive to the camping area. The service houses are just inside on the right, alongside a few cottages, some larger and some with only a double bed. For tents, I’d pick the more private spots behind the cottages. There’s a small path to the left, and beyond the sauna are places that suit tents better. In my opinion, the spots by the service house and in front of the cottages are better for caravans. There’s a sea view from the campsite.

There’s a good playground for kids, and the facilities were clean and tidy. The tent area won’t fit big tents well, and it’s hard to sleep with the main road so close. We’d asked for a quiet spot for our three-night stay, but found it was quite loud because of roadworks on the nearby motorway.

A cafe and simple facilities that are just right, in the most beautiful spot right beside a gorgeous beach.
