Clarion Hotel Helsinki

The leisure facilities were a treat, with a nice gym and sauna, and the pool on the top floor was especially nice. Bring goggles to get the most out of the glass. The room was lovely, the bed super comfortable, and there’s a tram stop right outside. Really enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast buffet was my favorite part. It was the biggest I’ve seen in a hotel, with loads of vegan options. The pool, fitness area, and bar were great too, and the bar had a relaxed feel and a lovely city view. Rooms were fine, clean and nice, with a small half window facing the harbor. The staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to stay.

The breakfast buffet had a huge range of good options and a lovely view. Our room was clean and looked after well. There’s also a heated rooftop pool, a sauna, and a beautiful bar with great views. Very nice hotel.

The vegan breakfast was a big disappointment. The website promises plenty of vegan choices, but what was there amounted to very dry, tasteless falafel and a few slices of vegan cheese. Most dishes had no vegan version. The cold cuts table was all meat, and the hot ratatouille tasted awful. The falafel was so dry and poor quality I couldn’t swallow it, even with mayonnaise. A hotel breakfast shouldn’t leave vegan guests with fruit and porridge as their only real options. Sausages, meatballs, and omelets are among the key breakfast foods, and vegan versions exist. There were eggs prepared every possible way, but not even a serving of tofu scramble. If the hotel is serious about feeding vegan guests, I’d strongly suggest getting advice from someone who knows vegan food.
