I drove four hours through the snow from Jyväskylä because the listing advertised a hot tub. The spa was supposed to close at 10 p.m., so after dinner I lifted a few weights and went to use the tub at 9:45. I only needed ten minutes, but then found out its actual closing time, which wasn’t posted, was 9:45. I’m so disappointed. I paid more than I expected because the Expedia ads didn’t mention the expensive parking, and I didn’t get the thing that brought me here. This place feels more like a dormitory than a hotel. The automated check-in, in my opinion, seems never to have been tested by anyone who could suggest improvements. The on-screen keyboard covers the fields you’re entering information in, so it’s nearly impossible to tell if you made a typo and even harder to correct it. It also doesn’t show all the information you’ve already entered when making the reservation. Very amateur.

The terrace on the seventh floor is open 24/7, and it gave us the perfect spot to celebrate midnight and welcome the New Year. We booked an apartment with a kitchenette for New Year’s Eve, and it was a great choice. Everything was spotless, and the kitchenette had all we needed to cook proper meals. The place has a fantastic atmosphere, with a workspace, gym and a shared open area for residents on the first floor as well. Everything felt modern and comfortable, and the entrance self check-in was easy to use. The location is excellent, close to the main attractions. We were really satisfied and would definitely return.

You check in on a tablet, with no main reception, and the process was easy. There are lockers where you can leave your luggage and go wander around town before heading to the airport. It’s a clean, accessible, self-sufficient hotel, and pets are welcome. The tram is a short walk away and can take you through to the main town area.

We liked having a common kitchen and living room with a TV, and the pool table was fun. The restaurant downstairs seemed very popular. Our daughter was glad she had her own bedroom, and we all enjoyed our two-night stay. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the harbor, and our room had a beautiful view of the Lutheran Cathedral. Check-in was all self-service. It was fairly straightforward, though a little cumbersome.
