The room was kept nicely clean, and the water pressure was good. The rooms are small, though there’s a fairly large balcony.

Breakfast is included, and there’s free parking at this small hotel near the border. The room has a private bathroom, and the price is very reasonable for Finland. There’s a small grocery store across the street, along with an inexpensive cafe serving pizza and kebab.

Free parking and a really good, tasty breakfast were nice extras. We were even able to check in earlier than Booking.com had said. The hotel is close to the border, and Imatra’s center is about a 15-20-minute walk or a 5-minute drive away.

For a couple of nights in Imatra, this is a good option, especially since the city isn’t very big and most people probably won’t stay long. The room had a fridge, kettle, hairdryer, shower and toilet, plus a balcony and small closet. There’s also a well-stocked store nearby. It’s the cheapest hotel near the border. The cheapest one in Laperanta costs three thousand rubles more, though the quality will be different. The price reflects what you get. The staff were Russian, and although everyone praised breakfast, I found it a fairly standard continental spread with limited choices, which fits the price. Watch out for the steep stairs to the second floor.
