The northern lights were stunning, and hiking across the lakes was a wonderful experience. The hotel sits beside a huge ice-covered lake, possibly the most beautiful winter setting in the world. The rooms are sparse, with tiny single beds, but they're warm and the showers have hot water. Food was much better than expected, with delicious meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The traditional Finnish wood sauna cost a lot, but I enjoyed it. Try a snow bath afterward to cool off. I really recommend this place for a memorable experience.

We got to see the northern lights, ride husky sledges, and drill a hole in the frozen lake to try fishing. There was also a stunning circular walk near the hotel, about 40 minutes long. We stayed for a week for our Lapland trip. It was -37 degrees in January, but we made it through and absolutely loved the experience.

The rooms are basic, and the old boarding school history gives the place some character. Food was plentiful and local, and the activity equipment was good quality. If you take part in all the planned activities, it's a five-star experience. We had a fantastic time.

The food was outstanding, some of the best restaurant meals I've had despite having traveled widely. The staff were warm, lovely, and helpful, and the hotel has great facilities right by the lake. I liked staying in a former boarding school with its own history and character. It felt much nicer than a bland, purpose-built hotel. Highly recommended!

The scenery was stunning, and the hotel was basic but clean and warm. Our room worked well, with twin beds, a small kitchenette, and a fridge. The bathroom had a nice hot shower. Meals depended on what they'd cooked, using local recipes, and you served yourself. Facilities were good too: free hot drinks, snowshoes, skiing equipment, and small plastic toboggans.
