The private sauna felt like a real treat, and the hotel was flexible about my checkout time when I had an afternoon flight. That kind of personal care made a difference. The gym is huge and has all the machines I needed, and they even cover everyday basics like salt and pepper so there's no need to run to a shop. It's right in the heart of Joensuu, so getting around was easy. The staff were wonderful, and the place was spotless from the moment I arrived. My only suggestion is to improve the blackout in the rooms. It may only matter in summer, but another curtain layer would help. I had a memorable stay and would recommend it.

Hello, I'm planning to stay here for a few days and wanted to check a few things. Are pots, plates and cooking utensils provided in the room, and is there a dishwasher with dish soap? Does the washing machine come with detergent or laundry powder? Also, are there extra fees for using the gym or sauna?

For the price and central location of an ordinary chain hotel, you get a cosy little place with spacious rooms, a handmade breakfast and a sauna with a lovely view. Why choose the usual franchise, then?

I came with students from UEF, so I wasn't a customer, but we were welcomed so warmly. The owner was polite and kind, and you can tell they care a lot about their traditions and culture. The rooms looked practical and exceptionally clean, and the coffee was the best I've had in Finland so far.

Lietsu was a warm, peaceful place to stay, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely, and I enjoyed the sauna too.
