Forenom Hostel Jyväskylä

A practical place right in the city center, with straightforward check-in and check-out. It wasn't especially clean.

It looks fairly modern, the room was reasonably clean, and the shared facilities were okay. The kitchen has limited dishes and no oven, and the dishwasher didn't work. For the price, though, it was okay.

The hotel is right in the city centre, and the room and facilities were very clean, though the room itself is tiny. My main problem was getting in. Agoda said to wait until 4pm for the entry code to arrive by email, but nothing came. Customer service said they'd emailed me an identity verification request, but I hadn't received it, so I couldn't complete it. I tried several times while staying on the phone for around 10 minutes. The picture was always either too clear, too blurry, too dark, or too bright. A nightmare. I was exhausted after the trip and it was 20 below zero. All I wanted was a hot shower and a rest, but I couldn't get in because of this ridiculous “identification” process. I've travelled through 54 countries and never experienced anything like it. Another big minus: my phone was roaming, and the call cost me more than the room. Thanks to the guy on the phone for being patient.

I was very happy with my one-night stay. The place was comfortable and really clean, thank you for that. The one thing that kept me from sleeping well was the street noise outside the hostel. I’m quite introverted, so it might help future guests if the booking service listed the room’s area and noise level.
