Hotel Merihovi

I brought a group of more than 60 people to this hotel and had a great experience. The building feels cozy, the sauna is a nice feature, and breakfast was varied and excellent. The ladies at reception were truly lovely. I highly recommend it.

The rooms were about 30 degrees Celsius while it was about 20-23 outside, and ours felt extremely stuffy. Leaving the window open didn’t help. When we spoke to reception, they gave us a bucket of ice, which was nice, but it wasn’t enough to offset the heat. Don’t bring your pet here in the summer. People rode scooters and motorcycles outside until about 3 AM, and the breakfast wasn’t good. The tub was gross and worn down, with peeling enamel. This absolutely isn’t a 4 star hotel. It’s a shame, because it seemed really charming, but it just isn’t good.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and everything worked correctly despite the place being a bit old. It’s a very cozy hotel with traditional, vintage deco. The rooms are spacious, and some even have their own saunas. Staying here feels like travelling back in time.

The food we had for lunch and dinner was surprisingly good. My stay was part of a business meeting, and the service was excellent. Although the building is old and definitely needs some renovation, my room was very clean and comfortable. My main gripe is the WiFI: coverage and capacity were awful. Without 4G acces on my phone, I would have had serious problems doing work or any other task online.
