The central location makes Hotel Kiteen Hovi a handy base for seeing Kiteen and the surrounding area, whether you want outdoor activities, local culture or some time in nature. The hotel itself has a warm, welcoming feel, and the staff greeted us with genuine smiles and attentive service. They were helpful at check-in, in the restaurant and when we asked about local places to visit. Our room was cosy, comfortable and well kept, with modern amenities and a quiet atmosphere for resting. We’d recommend Hotel Kiteen Hovi to travellers looking for a comfortable stay in Kiteen, Finland.

The hotel is cute and quaint, with a handy location for walking, getting food or filling up the car. Nothing fancy, but it was clean. Booking was a struggle. They didn’t reply to emails or attempts through their website, so we eventually had to book through booking(dot)com. The staff seemed to speak very little English. I’m usually fine when people at restaurants or other places don’t speak English, but running a hotel with only Finnish spoken felt like a lot. It took around eight calls to get someone to come check us in. When staff did show up, they were friendly, but the service otherwise wasn’t great, and we sometimes wondered if anyone was working. I can’t speak to the restaurant or bar. Breakfast was mediocre at best, with rather old fruit and eggs that weren’t very good.

The rooms are clean and spacious, though they’re not high-end. It’s an older hotel with a nice atmosphere and good service. The food is good too, and there’s a pub and dance floor.
