I remembered this place from when my parents used to stay here, and it still feels the same. It’s close to both the center and the railway station. The rooms look a little dated, but they’re clean, the shower works well, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet has plenty of food and drinks to choose from.

The rooms are spacious, and the breakfast buffet has fresh, tasty food with a good range, including options for special diets. It’s right in central Kokkola, so the train station, old town, and newer shopping area are all within walking distance. Room service was the letdown: they changed the towels but didn’t make the beds or clear away the dirty glasses.

The staff have been excellent and really helpful, and the breakfast is great. My room is warm, which is welcome since it’s really cold outside. I’ve got a few more nights here, so the sauna should keep me going. Hope I get to see Santa soon :)

The night worker on July 27-28, a blonde woman, was so kind and friendly, and her English was excellent. Her service impressed me enough to earn the hotel an extra star. It’s affordable, with a nice breakfast and free garage parking. The room was a bit warm and had a very small window. The hotel itself is cheap and nothing special, but I’d come back.
