The people working here were genuinely friendly and accommodating. It’s easy to reach a supermarket, skidoo and e-bike rentals, and cross-country trails on foot. We also enjoyed the icy lake dip, jacuzzi, and separate rustic sauna. The accommodation works especially well for couples. The restaurant was a standout, with great food and excellent service. Go soon if you can, since the place is closing on 21st of April 2025.

Breakfast was probably the best we’ve had at a guest lodge or hotel. It was freshly made for us, and Sarah’s service was fantastic, both at breakfast and throughout our stay. The setting was peaceful and beautiful, and we thought it was good value. We’d happily come back. A few things could be better. The sauna wasn’t very hot, and having only a morning public session from 8-10am felt restrictive. An evening slot, perhaps 5-7pm, would help, even with a small extra fee. Nobody showed us around when we arrived, and there wasn’t a shared space to relax in. Dinner was okay to good, though less impressive than we expected from the reviews. One night the pasta was undercooked, and the dinner service was just okay. After two dinners during our five nights, we cancelled the third booking and ate elsewhere. These were small downsides in an otherwise fantastic stay.

We tried the four main dishes as small portions through the tasting menu: Lohikeittio, Kuningasrapu risotto, Tomato pasta, and Poroa. Everything tasted delicious and was beautifully presented. The restaurant has lovely decor, a romantic feel, and a nice view of the lake. The dishes were made by Master Chef Finland 2011 Sirly Ylläsjärvi, with great ingredients and flavor.

The five-course menu was well balanced, and the lobster risotto was exquisite. I also loved the bread with browned butter. The menu had changed a few days before our visit, so the online version was out of date, but that wasn’t a problem. I’ve come here whenever I visit Lapland, and the menu has always been good and interesting. It’s a cozy place with nice decor. I forgot to take photos, but I’d recommend it if you enjoy more sophisticated flavors.
