Lapland Hotels Saaga

The staff made the stay especially pleasant, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and ready to help. We also appreciated the large parking area and gym. The spa is on the small side, but it was a nice place to unwind after being outdoors. Our room was comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and a fantastic view of the slopes to wake up to. Breakfast had a huge spread, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Lapland Hotels Saaga is very conveniently placed near the slopes, with a good atmosphere and solid facilities. We really enjoyed staying there and would recommend it.

It was quiet on the fourth floor even though the hotel was full of tourists, which was a nice surprise. The hotel is warm and good for a ski trip, right by the lift and route, and there’s a playroom for younger kids. The rooms are spacious and have balconies. The spa is small, but the warm water and a few saunas are enough. Breakfast felt luxurious, though the dining area was quite crowded. You can get car heating, and the internet worked well on mobile devices. We didn’t have lunch there. We’ll come back.

There isn’t much around beyond sports, with few shops or places to visit and limited transport. The price is why I’d give it three stars, otherwise I’d say four. Our room in the ski block was spacious and looked out over the winter forest. We may have been lucky, since not many rooms seem to have that view. The block is right by the lift and rental area, and there are roomy lockers for ski gear. The downside is that the lounge, cafeteria, restaurant, and buffet are in another building, about a three-minute walk uphill. You have to get fully dressed even just to grab a coffee or snack, which isn’t handy in slippery minus 20 weather. The food was decent quality, but the seasoning was hit or miss, especially with the meat, which usually missed for us. The pool and spa also cost extra because our room had a sauna. That didn’t make sense to me, since I wanted to swim, and the extra charge wasn’t mentioned when booking. At 360 a night, charging separately for the pool felt cheap.

The staff were welcoming, and the food was perfectly decent. Everything else was good too. The one thing that bothered me was the buffet restaurant music, it sounded like an Ayahuasca ceremony and wasn’t relaxing while eating dinner or breakfast.
