I locked myself out of the hut one evening and called for help. A woman came to let me in, and I thanked her. Then she suddenly shoved past me and hurried inside. I was so startled I nearly called the police. It turned out she was the owner, and she wanted to show me how to keep the ventilation on. She could at least have introduced herself first. Such a strange, aggressive way to communicate.

Quiet and cozy, and a good spot for a relaxed stay without spending too much. The owner was awesome and gave me all the information I needed. You can wash and dry your laundry here, and there's a free bicycle too. 🙂👌

You can get to the lake very easily, and walk across its ice into town. The chalet is simple, clean, Nordic in style, and nicely warm, with a sauna. It's peaceful without feeling cut off, and there's a restaurant nearby. A good fit if you like being active and walking, though the supermarket is about 20 minutes away on foot.

The cottages are spacious and come with a sauna and ski room, with the tracks starting right in the yard. The ski bus stop is just next door, and you can walk over to the restaurant at Ylläs Humina for dinner. Maybe Finland's best spot for cross-country skiing. We'll be back next year.
