I really liked the self-service setup, with no reception and everything running on an honor system. The upstairs museum was a personal favorite, and the stuffed toy animals and decor added a few homely touches. The place sits right by the sea, and the facilities were clean and practical, even with shared showers and toilets. It would suit a family or small group, though the rooms feel dated and there aren’t enough power outlets.

The location is great, but even rooms without the “shared facilities” tag don’t have private bathrooms. Everything also feels very outdated. For the 25 euros per person per night we were charged, breakfast was meagre. We were lucky our booking company sorted it out for us, because the gasthaus provided zero service. P.S. I love how they show their level of service by replying in Finnish to a review written in English. I’d love to reply, but I don’t speak Finnish, so I can’t.

A quiet, clean spot right by the sea, with a beautiful location and a great view from the upstairs lounge.

The interior is clean and nautical. In winter, when things are quieter, guests get picnic baskets, which is a good idea. I also really liked the breakfast served at the standing table.
