A really nice small hotel with a boutique feel, and the summer BBQ restaurant Bar at Hotel Yard is superb. They sometimes have concerts too. The rooms were good value for money, so I’ll come back. They had good local beers, and a jug of Koskenkorva too... ;)
The breakfast wasn’t huge, but it was tasty, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Before check-in, we got a message with the key information, and staff also called to make sure we had it and to answer any questions.
It’s easy to find, near Kuopio, and there’s a decent-sized parking lot. The rooms are clean and cozy, and breakfast is decent. Noise from other rooms could be an issue.
They noticed I might arrive late and got in touch to make sure I could still get inside and enjoy my stay. Really thoughtful staff.
The room was spotless and nicely renovated, and the staff were friendly. Reception is easy to miss, just a small sign by the restaurant, with access through the courtyard from the parking lot. It worked well as an overnight stop while passing through. My room was upstairs in the courtyard building. There was some gig noise in the evening, though it wasn't disruptive and didn't go on late.
