The fishing is fabulous here, and the staff are friendly and glad to help. The chalets sit among the trees with a lovely view over the rapids.

We took the E Fatbike Tour through the snow in winter, and it was a great experience. The bikes and the tour were great, our guides were super friendly, and the break in the hut was really cool too.

The rooms are practical and have terraces with a lovely lake view, though they’re rather small and short on storage. The complex is very nice and well located. Sadly, hotel guests don’t have a restaurant, and there isn’t much choice close by.

Our kids have been at the nearby Team Mayer-Virtenen figure skating camp, and we’ve used Varjola as our base. The breakfast is fantastic, and having it in the old stables adds to the rustic feel. The food overall is superb in both quality and nutrition for skaters. Thank you.

I only came for the restaurant and meeting rooms, not an overnight stay. The scenery is really nice, and the staff were very friendly. The food was good enough. If you like sauna and swimming in the lake, this is a good spot.
