The winter scenery around the guesthouse was beautiful and pristine, and the wood-fired sauna felt heavenly. Dinners were delicious and quite sophisticated. Jarkko, the host, is a talented cook and was very helpful in arranging the specific activities I wanted for the trip. The hospitality was the friendliest I've ever experienced. There are several beautiful parks nearby that are little visited in winter, so skiing and snowshoeing were wonderfully peaceful. Highly recommended! The small house in the photo is the Eva Ryynanen Museum.

A lovely way to unwind in the middle of the deepest Karelia, with a sauna and a chance to swim in the lake. The family-run business offers friendly service, and it's a great place to stay if you're in the area.

I asked the owner for a quote for a boat tour, but never received one. He also didn't follow through on contacting me, saying there was nothing to communicate. Communication was very poor. I'd look for another service provider.

We rented the cabin for about a week with a hunting group of seven, hunting for hens. It suited our group and the activity really well. The location was close to the hunting grounds, and the host was absolutely great. The whole stay left us thinking, “we'll come back here.” Thank you! During a rainy week, the drying room was a big help for getting our gear dry each evening. The cabin also had what a larger group needs: two toilets, a spacious living room and kitchen, and a shower.
