Hotel Alexander

Breakfast was really nice, and I was happy with it. The room was clean and basically okay for a night's sleep, but my single room was tiny, and the equipment was old and partly damaged. I had no other option but to stay there.

We were heading to Himos to ski, and stayed here for two nights. It's about a 40 km drive, but I'm loyal to Hotels for life. The Covid 19 restrictions meant we had to take breakfast away, which worked out nicely: my girlfriend got breakfast in bed both mornings while I went to pick it up. There's plenty of free street parking right outside. The hotel is nicely decorated, small, and the service was exceptional. Reception is run from the cafe, which stays open until evening. We got there just in time. For late check-in there's a number to call, though I don't know how that works. Once you've got your key, you can use the side door day or night. After two nights we carried on north to bigger hills, dreaming of table service at a restaurant. Keep up the good work, every small city should have a hotel like this.

The only real pluses were that pets are allowed in the rooms and the location seems good. I paid 99€ for one night and, based on the price and the hotel's own webpage, expected more. It felt less like a hotel room and more like an apartment in a house that looked ready for demolition. The street below was noisy, with teens gathering and driving around. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're desperate and travelling with a pet.

It was clean, and I guess you get what you pay for, but I've never seen a smaller room.
