It was -30°C in Lapland, and the heating inside was broken while the cold air conditioning was blasting and couldn’t be switched off. There weren’t any winter blankets. Reception brought me one blanket for one person, then asked for an extra €15, which I refused to pay. The manager said I should contact Booking and that he’d approve a refund, but he didn’t accept it at all. A nightmare!

We could see the aurora just outside our rooms, and the staff were very courteous. The hotel has spacious rooms, is right by the highway, and supermarkets are nearby. We travelled by train from Helsinki to Kolari, then drove an hour to reach this motel. Santa Village is two hours away. For a Lapland experience, I’d choose to stay in Munio.

A great place to rest before or after a hike. The room was spacious and clean, with a small kitchenette, TV, comfortable double bed, nice bathroom, and a sauna!

A handy stop when travelling through. The room was clean and the beds were good. Breakfast was motel standard and good.
