The lake view from every apartment was wonderful, and the place was clean, warm, and comfortable, with everything we needed. We spent four days here, and the beds were comfortable too. The owner and his family were very kind. There’s a small shop with fresh smoked and salted fish, and I highly recommend the restaurant’s fish soup. If you enjoy fishing, you can rent a boat, and the owner can prepare and vacuum-pack your catch. I also used the sauna in the evening. It’s quite spacious and comfortable for up to four people. Parikkala is the nearest place to shop, about seven minutes away by car. The stay was attractively priced, so I’d happily recommend coming for a weekend.

Our six days felt like paradise, and the breakfast was the best, with homemade sourdough and everything you could wish for. We stayed in Apartment No. 9, which was ideal for two. Its spot at the southern end of the property made it especially peaceful. The fish shop is worth stopping by for, particularly Çaki’s heavenly smoked salmon and trout. You can also order excellent soups.

After a sweaty day bikepacking, we got such a warm welcome and excellent service. Dinner was fish soup, and both that and breakfast were great. The sauna was nice and hot, and a refreshing swim in the lake was just right. A special thank you to Sirpa for making us feel at home.

We only stopped in for a snack, but the fish sandwiches were excellent. Such lovely Yugoslav hospitality!
